Why the plant matters
Simba is part of the Kampala refining cluster that turned Uganda into one of Africa's largest declared gold exporters without a comparable mining base. Its significance lies in the paperwork that accompanies its bars rather than in the size of its circuit.

Current licence standing, whether output is assayed independently, and how the plant sources feed after successive tax changes pushed regional gold flows between Kampala, Nairobi and Dubai.
